Jake Tapper Assures Jasmine Crockett That She Can Cuss. Watch What Happens.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) initially held back when CNN’s Jake Tapper said she could cuss about House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) ― but she eventually caved. (Watch the video below.)

On “The Lead” Monday, Tapper teed up a clip of Johnson claiming he hadn’t tried to kill a House vote on the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files but was protecting the identities of the victims.

“What’s your response to that?” Tapper asked.

“I would cuss, but I’m not going to,” she replied. “I’m just going to say he’s full of it. Number one—”

“This is cable. You can cuss,” Tapper interrupted. Crockett laughed.

“I’m not going to do it,” she answered. “But I am going to say that he is full ― OK, I’m going to do it. He’s full of shit.”

The Texas Democrat then chipped away at Johnson’s claim.

“We know that he didn’t even bring the House back in because he was trying to avoid us dealing with Epstein,” Crockett said of House members’ prolonged absence from Washington during the shutdown. “In fact, he would not even swear in a duly-elected, now new member of Congress,” she added, in a reference to Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.).

Crockett noted that Johnson was sued on claims of violating the Constitution by failing to swear in Grijalva, who was the decisive signature on the discharge petition calling for a vote on a bill to release the Epstein files.

“He violated the Constitution to avoid this. So miss me on pretending that this is about the victims,” she added.

Johnson finally swore in Grijalva last week, and now the House seems poised to approve the bill. Trump walked back his opposition to releasing the files after it became clear that Republican lawmakers would defy him. But even if the bill passes the House, it has a murky future in the Senate, where Johnson likely believes it will fail, according to Crockett.

“He never plans for this to actually go forward,” she said, adding that “somehow” the release of the files will get “killed.”
