Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene continues attacking her own Republican Party — and she isn’t showing signs of slowing down.
President Donald Trump has made it a point to spew lies regarding inflation and grocery prices, and Greene addressed these claims on “The Sean Spicer Show” on Thursday.
“President Trump and his administration does deserve a lot of credit for lowering inflation and holding it steady, but that doesn’t bring prices down, and so gaslighting the people and trying to tell them that prices have come down is not helping, it’s actually infuriating people,” Greene told the former White House press secretary.

Greene added that the Trump administration cannot pull the wool over the American people’s eyes.
“People know what they’re paying at the grocery store,” she said. “They know what they’re paying for their kids’ clothes and school supplies. They know what they’re paying for their electricity bills.”

She went on to say that the White House’s approach “does not work,” offering both critique and an alternative to the administration’s messaging.
“We need compassion and [to] show that we care about the American people, and show that we are in the trenches with them on what they’re going through,” Greene continued. “You don’t gaslight them. You don’t lecture them, and you don’t deny what’s happening.”

Greene further argued that the government needed “to rein in spending” and that “government spending drives inflation.” The Republican then cited the 9% inflation rate in 2022, referencing the CARES Act under Trump’s first presidency, before shifting to criticize former President Joe Biden and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for passing “massive pieces of legislation.”
At a Q&A on Monday, Trump addressed Greene’s sudden shift — and expressed confusion over her recent stance.

“I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what happened. She’s lost her way, I think,” Trump said.
On Wednesday, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on Trump’s statements about the economy and their impact on the American people.
“Donald Trump might be trying to downplay voters’ concerns about affordability, but I’m here to tell you that is a ginormous error,” Enten said. “It may be an error that goes down in political infamy.”
