Nancy Pelosi Brutally Calls Out Donald Trump’s Hypocrisy Towards James Comey

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) didn’t hold back any punches in her latest choice of words regarding President Donald Trump.

CNN’s Dana Bash interviewed the former House speaker on “Inside Politics” on Wednesday, and right as their interview was about to wrap, Pelosi informed Bash that she had one more thing she wanted to say — and it involved former FBI director James Comey, who had just entered a not guilty plea earlier that day.

Comey led an FBI investigation into Trump’s campaign in 2016 and its possible collusion with Russia. Now, the president has been accusing Comey of criminal conduct related to the investigation.

Late last month, Trump’s Justice Department indicted Comey on one count of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice.

“The former head of the FBI has been accused of lying to Congress. There’s one point I want to make,” Pelosi told Bash. “And that is nobody who has lied more to Congress than Donald Trump, and that’s why I tore up his speech because it was a manifesto of lies. And I said at the time.”

Pelosi then went on to sum up Trump’s behavior.

“It’s so cute almost that he’s accusing somebody of lying to Congress,” she said.

“Obviously, he wasn’t under oath. It’s a different...” Bash started to say to Pelosi before she was interrupted.

“It doesn’t matter. He’s the president of the United States speaking to the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi said.

In 2020, Pelosi, then speaker of the House, ripped up a copy of Trump’s State of the Union speech following his address to Congress. Although the act was widely criticized by Republicans, Pelosi said it was “the courteous thing to do, considering the alternatives.”

Much like Comey, Trump is not a fan of Pelosi. But if he ever decides to get his legal revenge on her, here’s hoping it’s less conspicuous than his efforts towards Comey.

Comey’s indictment came just days after Trump complained to Attorney General Pam Bondi on his site Truth Social that zero retaliation against Comey was “killing our reputation and credibility.” He then strongly urged her to prosecute him already. The Wall Street Journal later reported that Trump’s post was intended as a private message to Bondi.
