Watch: NYPD arrests pro-Palestinian protesters at Columbia University


On Wednesday, Columbia University president Minouche Shafik faced the House committee whose grilling led to the ouster of her Harvard University and University of Pennsylvania counterparts last year. Panel members of the hearing focused on campus antisemitism and wanted to know how Shafik was protecting Jewish and pro-Israel students on campus with frequent pro-Palestinian protests. One day later, Shafik made national headlines — calling on the NYPD to descend on Columbia’s campus and arrest a group of students who had set up tents and refused to leave their “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” for 30 hours.
