Anthropic policy head: 'You cannot do safety from second place' on AI

"It would be very detrimental if we were not in first place." Anthropic's head of public policy, Sarah Heck, made the case at POLITICO's Decoded summit that the U.S. can’t make artificial intelligence safer if it falls behind China in the global tech race.
